In May on my way home from Valencia to France, I made a quick stop in Barcelona, Spain. I was there for only ten hours, but I was so excited to visit this city since I had never been there before. I didn't visit any museum or monument that day because I clearly didn't have time to spend two hours or more inside a building. I wanted to make the most of my short time by seeing its beauty from the outside and explore as much as I could by walking everywhere. Needless to say, I had sore legs the next day... But it was so worth it!

10 hours in Barcelona in photos

Walking through the narrow streets

I couldn't get enough of the beautiful buildings there. Can you see yourself living in one of these apartments with the pretty balconies? I know I can! Barcelona is full of narrow streets, small stores and restaurants, and it is just so nice to walk around.

La Boqueria, La Rambla

I couldn't not go to this famous food market everyone talked about so much. And after going there, I can say that indeed it's a must. There are so many colourful fruits and juices everywhere - which is paradise to me, if I could eat fruits for the rest of my life, I would! Locals as well as tourists eat at the counter bars, while you get lost walking around in this place... (Who else has no sense of direction? Just me?)

On my way to la playa

Every time I discovered another area of the city, I couldn't stop thinking "wow Barcelona is so beautiful." Even though it was very windy and not that warm, you could already feel the summer vibes there. I also loved the fact that there were people building monuments out of sand at the beach, it just shows how much of an arty city Barcelona is!

I would have loved to spend more time in Barcelona, as I've missed so many things because obviously ten hours aren't enough to see what this city has to offer. This makes a great excuse to go back there again soon!

Have you ever been to Barcelona?
