A few weeks ago, two of my best friends and I drove to Montpellier to visit the city for a day. And by the way, that drive was the worst drive ever! It took us 4 hours to get there because of the bad weather when it should have taken us only 2 hours and a half (it was pouring raining and we couldn't see the road at all, so scary!)

But eventually we made it at 11pm - we met up with our Airbnb host, explored Montpellier for about an hour before going back to our apartment and fell asleep as soon as we went to bed.

We only had 24 hours to spend in Montpellier because we had to get back home the next day - so this girls' trip was very quick but amazing nonetheless. I had always wanted to go to Montpellier and it was so nice to finally have one full day there.

The architecture

As I only spent one day there and didn't visit that many places, I couldn't write a full guide for the blog but I really wanted to share with you the pictures I took of Montpellier... because let me tell you, Montpellier is STUNNING. The architecture of the buildings in the city centre reminded me a little bit of the ones in Bordeaux (and for those who don't know, Bordeaux is my favourite city in France) so I absolutely loved loved loved the architecture.

Lunch at Ma Première Cantine

We walked all around the centre of Montpellier before finding this place - we didn't really like the other places but when we saw this one, we knew it was the one! The inside of the restaurant Ma Première Cantine was so pretty and prices are very affordable.

Shopping

We went shopping for a couple of hours in the afternoon but because we were there on a Friday  and Christmas was a few weeks away, the shopping centre was packed! I didn't even buy anything because so many people were in the shops which made it difficult to see what was in store.

Stunning sunset in Montpellier

The best part of the trip was definitely the sunset. Our Airbnb host recommended it to us and I'm so glad we listened to him. We went to the Promenade du Peyrou just next to the Arc de Triomphe. The Promenade du Peyrou is like a parc, with incredible architecture again, and the sky looked SO pretty that we had to take pictures!

Is this... the Arc de Triomphe? Am I in Paris? Nope, there's one in Montpellier too!
This literally looks like heaven
